Abstract [eng] Crohn's disease is a chronic autoimmune disease of the gastrointestinal tract, usually affecting the small and large intestines, and later can cause damage to the skin, joints, eyes and liver. Crohn's disease is characterised by a range of symptoms: diarrhoea, abdominal pain, weight loss, nausea, fatigue, fever and anaemia. The disease can lead to complications such as intestinal ulcers, fissures and fistulas, and intestinal blockages. Fistulae usually open into the outer layers of skin around the anus, where infections can occur, abscesses can form, and faecal incontinence can develop. Genetically predisposed individuals who have impaired immune regulation under the influence of provocative agents are most affected. It is a disease of young people, but it can also occur at a later age. There are three main disease forms: inflammatory, structuring, and penetrating. Crohn’s disease is associated with frequent and varied extraintestinal manifestations, which not only increase patients' mortality but also impair their quality of life and require specific treatment. Unfortunately, surgical treatment is only an adjunct after which the patient can still relapse. This work describes a clinical case of a patient with Crohn's disease. This report is interesting because the patient was also pregnant. The case is reviewed based on the most recent literature data, diagnostic criteria, and treatment options.
