Abstract [eng] The aim of this master's thesis is to reveal the intercultural aspect of music education, which is seen as an opportunity for students of different nationalities to get to know, experience and feel other cultures together. The chosen research object is intercultural education through non-formal musical activities. The focus of the master's thesis is to reveal the possibilities of intercultural education through non-formal musical activities (the case of En-den-du music studio). In order to complete the study, tasks of the research were formulated: 1) to describe the concepts of culture and intercultural education; 2) to examine the forms, goals and objectives of non-formal music education; 3) to discuss the elements of expression of music education in an intercultural perspective; 4) to carry out qualitative research in order to find out the possibilities of intercultural education through informal musical activities. To reveal the possibilities of intercultural education through informal music activities, qualitative research was carried out, which included 7 students of the music studio “En-den-du” of Šiauliai City School of Arts. After analyzing the scientific and methodological literature and conducting empirical research, the following conclusions were obtained: 1. The concept of interculturalism describes the knowledge of other cultures and socio-cultural groups; explains the connections between cultures and the search for intercultural similarities. 2. The main goal of non-formal education is to improve and accelerate the process of socialization of an individual, to develop creative abilities, to form a leisure culture, to secure employment, to meet the needs of students for cognition, education and self-expression and to help them become active members of society. 3. Music is one of the essential elements of intercultural education and a result of civilization. With the help of music, it is possible to develop and expand one’s horizons, acquire intercultural knowledge, as well as various cultures can communicate between each other and convey cultural-social messages. 4. After conducting a qualitative research in the music studio “En-den-du” of Šiauliai School of Arts, it can be stated that by acquiring music in informal musical activities, students not only acquire specific musical knowledge and skills, but also get acquainted with another language, culture, expand their worldview, form perception, acceptance and tolerance. Research has shown that non-formal music education can be successfully applied to the development of students' personal, special, social and intercultural competences.
