This study examines the impact of privatization on the operational and financial performances of State-Owned Enterprises in Nigeria. Using data from secondary sources such as financial statements of selected (SOE’s) firms and fact book from the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The sample of the study were drawn randomly from the telecommunication and Banking sector consisting of (10) ten firms. The period of analysis cover (20) twenty years, which include 10 years before and (10) years after period (1985-1994) and (2010-2019) respectively to estimate changes within these periods. The study uses descriptive statistics in the estimation of the firm’s performance indicator such as net-income efficiency, profitability Return on equity and solvency. The result show significant difference between these period that privatization improve the performance of the selected SOE’s divestiture firm. |
