The topic is relevant to the author of the study, who works as a speech therapist in the Educational Psychological Service of District Municipality and analyses the real situation about providing the speech therapy in the region and who is in search of effective opportunities for realization of the functions of speech therapists. To solve the objectives of the research, quantitative and qualitative research methods are combined. Examining conceptual documents of the Ministry of Education and Science, some major changes related to legal regulation of special education were identified. Theoretical analysis of scientific literature, theoretical analysis of the results of empirical research and generalization method has allowed to obtain new information about the research object, learn about the latest work of other professionals, focusing on the essential subject of the study – the speech therapy intervention areas which need to be improved. |
