Object of this study – homicide stories in dailies „Lietuvos rytas“ and „Respublika“ in year 2008. The aim of the study – is to determinate, if homicide stories were reported disproportionately compared to their incidence in official crime statistics. A content analysis of crime stories in Lithuanian dailies „Lietuvos Rytas” (the biggest mainstream daily) and „Respublika” (the second biggest newspaper), published in year 2008, was compared to statistics of crime in Lithuania in the same year to see if this crime coverage produces an agenda setting effect. |
