Abstract [eng] Electronic Money Institutions: Performance Research and Perspectives Assessment The main aim of this master thesis is to investigate performance of electronic money institutions (EMI). This paperwork consists of three main parts: literature analysis, methodological part and research. Theoretical analysis, consisted of Lithuanian and foreign literature review, determines the main principles and guidelines of electronic money and their institutions. After literature review author has carried out the combined performance research, including trend analysis, correlation and regression analysis, forecasting. First of all, author analyse EMI trends of Europe Union and Lithuania, provides graphical analysis, forms a general outline of market activity. Secondly, using correlation and regression analysis author identifies significance of factors that may have impact on EMI performance. In the last stage by implementing two different forecasting models author presents outlook for the year of 2020. The performed study reveals that EMI activity only related to electronic money is not profitable. Based on historical data analysis author claims that the activity of such institutions relating solely to electronic money are not core. Correlation analysis reveals that change of consumers habits related to technological progress have the biggest external impact on the EMI performance, while internal factors arise from company’s financial activity. Lastly, conducted forecasting model provides positive growth trend for 2020. The conclusion and recommendations summarize the highlights of literature analysis as well as results of the research. Whilst level of EMI market research is still very limited, author believes that this paperwork will be significant input in EMI science.
