The Influence of Servant Leadership on the Organizational Citizenship of Different Generations of Employee 58 pages, 13 charts, 6 pictures, 76 references The main purpose of this master thesis is to determine the impact that service leadership has on the organizational citizenship of different generations of employees. The work consists of four parts: the first one analyzes the literature, the second one presents the research methodology, the third one describes the research and its results, the fourth one summarizes the results of the author's research, presents conclusions and recommendations. An analysis of the literature has revealed that leadership has an impact on employee organizational citizenship, and serving leadership can directly or indirectly promote employee organizational citizenship behavior. Few studies examining the impact of serving leadership on organizational citizenship in terms of generation or age of employees have been found, but literature analysis suggests that different needs and worldviews of the Baby Boom, X, Y, and Z generations may influence the impact of serving leadership on organizational citizenship. The performed research surveyed 364 employees of different ages, who were later assigned to the respective generation based on the analysis of literature. Three research hypotheses have been put forward, the instruments of servant leadership and organizational citizenship research have been selected, the measures of statistical data processing have been described and the research model has been presented. The results of the performed research revealed that servant leadership has a positive effect on organizational citizenship. It was also observed that the generation, as a moderator, influences the impact of service leadership on organizational citizenship – servant leadership has the greatest impact on organizational citizenship of Generations Y and Z, to a lesser extent on organizational citizenship of Generation X employees, and has no influence on organizational citizenship of Baby Boomers. The results of the research confirmed the insights provided in the literature analysis section on the positive impact of servant leadership on the organizational citizenship of different generations of employees. The study provides a premise to analyze the impact of servant leadership and its individual factors on employees ’organizational citizenship behavior in the public sector, where both service leadership and organizational citizenship are most pronounced. |
