The aim of the Master‘s thesis is to determine the impact of Lean methods on sustainable production after reviewing the scientific literature and conducting empirical research. Research methods used: analysis of scientific literature, systenatized method of analysis in preparation of author‘s research methodology and questionnaire, semistructured interview method was used to obtain data needed to determine the impact between research elements, empirical research data analysis was done in context to understand the research phenomena and qualitative research data. The main results of the research: nine Lean methods used in the researched Lithuanian production organizations were indentified. These methods are: 5S, Standartized Work, TPM, SMED, PDCA, Kanban, VSM, Gemba and Kaizen. The identified Lean methods have positive impact on sustainable production through sub-indicators. From nine identified methods, Kaizen, 5S and Standartized Work have the strongest influence on the environmental element. Kaizen and Standartized Work influence strongest on the social element. The economic element is affected by all nine methonds ecually when used as a system. In total, Lean methods have a possitive impact on sustainable manufacturing. Manufacturing companies operating under Lean system have become „greener“ companies. |
