Application of Employee Search and Selection Methods in Modern Private Sector Organizations of Lithuania The main purpose of this master thesis is to analyze the traditional and modern methods of employee search and selection and find out which methods of employee search and selection are applied in modern Lithuanian private sector organizations based on implmented research. The work consists of three main parts; the analysis of the literature, the research and its results, conclusions and recommendations. Literature analysis overviews the main stages of the recruitment and selection process, introduces the variety of traditional and modern recruitment and selection methods and shows their popularity and importance. After the literature analysis the author has carried out a study aiming at finding out about application of employee search and selection methods applied in modern private sector organizations of Lithuania. 416 respondents have provided answers to the survey. The results of the study were statistically processed using the SPSS program package. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to smooth the Likert scales. A linear regression model was used to determine significance between question adequacy and employee well-being. The study revealed that the most popular job search methods among younger job seekers are job search portals and recommendations from friends and acquaintances. Also, this study showed that proper questions asked during the selection process have a positive effect on the well-being of employees during a job interview. Using different selection tests, recruiters might learn about candidate’s strengths and weaknesses, assess knowledge, abilities, and priorities. Assessing the different age groups it was found that the most important criteria for integration in the new organization according to respondents are work tools, line manager and co-workers. The conclusions and recommendations summarize the concepts of literature analysis and the results of the research. Given recommendations could be useful for candidates who are seeking for a job and recruiters who are implementing employee search and selection processes inside or outside organization. |
