The main purpose of this master thesis is to make suggestions which project management tools to use, what would increase the number of successful “Y” system implementation projects. The work consists of three main parts: the analysis of literature, the research and its results and recommendations. Literature analysis reviews concepts of success of IT systems projects and their critical success factors, reasons for project failures, the main project management methodologies, and their relationship with critical success factors. After the literature analysis in the second part author has carried out the study of 5 projects to identify the main reasons why projects are currently failing. The performed research revealed that projects pay little attention to communication, project planning and management, one of the main reasons for the failure of the projects was insufficient refinement of the requirements at the beginning of the project. The third part of the work, after evaluating the results of the research, provides suggestions on how to improve the success of project management in organization, which project management methodologies would increase the success of projects. |
