Abstract [eng] |
Depression is an often occurring psychiatric disorder. Not all depression patients are responding to treatment. When so – transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is prescribed. EEG is a method often used when analysing both depression and the effect of TMS on the disease. Hyperventilation (HV) is common routine when recording EEG and it has an effect on EEG as well as TMS. There is no literature on the effect of TMS on the EEG reaction to HV. After analysis of the TMS effect on reaction to EEG, statistically significant differences were found only when comparing the absolute values of EEG. No statistically significant differences were found when comparing the relative effect of HV to EEG. |
