Roma Adomaitienė Vilnius, 2021 SUMMARY 166 pages, 20 figures, 28 tables, 123 references The main goal of this work is to analyze the internal quality assurance systems of Arqus Alliance higher education institutions and the experience of their application. At the initiative of the European Commission, alliances or networks of 41 European higher education institutions have been set up. They should create a qualitative breakthrough in the European Higher Education Area. In order for such a breakthrough to occur, we must first delve into the quality assurance systems of each higher education institution and the experience of their application. We could use this experience to create and improve common quality systems for alliances or networks. There are currently no studies examining the quality assurance systems of these newly formed alliances, this is one of the first studies in this area. This work consists of five main parts, conclusions and suggestions. The first, second and third chapters analyze the scientific literature on the concept of quality and quality assurance, the European Higher Education Area and the documents and quality measures summarizing quality assurance applied in it in the internal quality assurance systems of higher education institutions. The main principles, methods, tools of internal quality assurance systems, their application and value in higher education institutions are analyzed, and areas of application are identified. A theoretical model for the application of internal quality assurance systems in practice in Arqus Alliance higher education institutions is presented. The fourth and fifth parts describe the detailed research methodology, statistical analysis of higher education documents, data and the interpretation and evaluation of qualitative data, and the triangulation of research is performed. The summarized results of the scientific literature and research at the end of the work are reflected in the conclusions and recommendations of the research. It is proposed to establish common quality criteria or definitions of study quality in the alliance, as well as to have the widest as possible quality assurance system and quality policy documents, which would include the criteria of the research model developed by the author (figure 20). |
