The aim of the master's thesis: To determine the possibilities of application of ISO 9001: 2015 quality standards and the possible impact on the improvement of activities in Lithuanian non-governmental organisations. The tasks of the master's thesis are the following: 1. To analyse the scientific literature on the concept of quality and ISO 9001: 2015 quality standard, its requirements; 2. To analyse the scientific literature on the legal environment and activities of Lithuanian non- governmental organisations; 3. To develop an empirical research methodology and to conduct a study on the possible implementation of ISO 9001: 2015 quality standards in Lithuanian non-governmental organisations; 4. After conducting a study, evaluate the possibilities of applying ISO 9001: 2015 quality standards in Lithuanian non-governmental organisations and possible areas of improving the quality of organisations' activities; 5. To prepare a model of factors (opportunities and problems) for applying the ISO 9001:2015 quality standard in non-governmental organisations. The master's thesis consists of the analysis of scientific literature, which discusses the concept of quality standards, development, and quality requirements. The study also analysed the legal environment and operating principles of Lithuanian non-governmental organisations, research methodologies, an empirical qualitative study involving 22 Lithuanian non-governmental 74 organisations. The systematic case study aimed to determine whether and how the activities of Lithuanian non-governmental organisations could be improved by applying the ISO 9001: 2015 quality standard. Qualitative content analysis was used to analyse the data obtained during the interviews. Given that the material formed by the method of semi-structured interviews is textual, such a method of data analysis allowed for a correct interpretation and understanding of the respondents' answers. The main conclusions of this work are considered to be that non-governmental organisations agree that the international quality standard ISO 9001: 2015 can be used in the activities of non- governmental organisations to improve the quality of organisation activities. It is also agreed that the organisation's members, the target audience of the activities and the partners would appreciate this solution, as it would potentially form the image of a reliable organisation that values and cares about quality. However, while the application of the international ISO 9001: 2015 quality standard in non- governmental organisations is welcomed, most organisations agree that there may be resistance from the organisation's internal structures to the potential increased workload that the standard would create. It is stated that it would be necessary for organisations to decide on applying the standard, deepen their understanding of the potential benefits of the standard, present the experience of other organisations, and ensure the provision of methodological tools.
