Abstract [eng] |
The main purpose of this master thesis is to determine the impact of transactional and transformational leadership styles on the quality management of the organization. Research methods: the analysis of literature, semi- structured interview and questionnaire. Results were processed using SPSS programme and the following statistical tools such as Cronbach alpha, factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient were used. Literature analysis reviews concepts of leadership and quality, quality management principles, characteristics of transactional and transformational leadership. Theoretical relationship between transactional and transformational leadership styles and the quality management of the organization was analysed as well. Qualitative study conducted by interviewing five experts- lower and middle level managers of the finance department of telecommunication companies. Semi- structured interview helped to identify the leadership style used by managers in their daily work as well as quality management principles they apply. Questionnaire was sent to the employees of the finance department of telecommunication organizations. Quaestionnaire was based on the literature analysis and semi- structured interview responses. Analysis of the data obtained during both qualitative and quantitative research led to the conclusion that the more managers tend to be transformational leaders, the more they apply quality management principles in the daily work and ensure better quality management of the organization. Meanwhile, managers who tend to be transactional leaders, are less likely to follow the principles of quality management and do not ensure the quality management of the organization's activities so well. Research has also revealed that most managers have both transactional and transformational leadership characteristics. |
