ACCOUNTING AND EVALUATION OF THE EFFICIENCY OF TANGIBLE FIXED ASSETS Gabrielė BIČIŪNAITĖ Master thesis Accounting and Financial Management Program Vilnius University, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration Supervisor – Junior Assistant V. The main goal of the master's thesis is to evaluate the accounting condition of the long-term tangible assets of the Private Limited Company Schmitz Cargobull Baltic and the efficiency of its use. In order to achieve the goal, the following tasks were set: to examine the theoretical, methodological and accounting aspects of long-term tangible assets accounting, to reveal the methods of analysis of long-term tangible assets and evaluation of their efficiency, to evaluate the accounting policy of the fixed assets of the Private Limited Company Schmitz Cargobull Baltic and its implementation, to perform the analysis of the composition, structure and dynamics of long-term tangible assets of the Private Limited Company Schmitz Cargobull Baltic, to perform the analysis of the turnover and profitability indicators of the long-term tangible assets of the Private Limited Company Schmitz Cargobull Baltic. Working methods: analysis of scientific literature sources, analysis of company documents, information grouping, comparison, synthesis, generalization, formation of logical conclusions, calculation of relative indicators, graphical representation, statistical research methods, etc. The work consists of three main parts: literature analysis, empirical research methodology, research and its results. Literature analysis reviews the concept of long-term tangible assets, economic significance and its accounting regulation. Based on the empirical research methodology prepared by the author, was performed the assessment of the accounting condition of long-term tangible assets and the efficiency of the use of long-term tangible assets of the Private Limited Company Schmitz Cargobull Baltic. The main conclusions of the work: Accounting of long-term tangible assets in the company is carried out correctly, objectively, can be used reliably using long-term tangible asset analysis and efficiency assessments. Tangible fixed assets are in good technical condition, therefore the strategy for renewal of tangible fixed assets chosen by the Private Limited Company Schmitz Cargobull Baltic can be promising in the long run, as significant investments in machinery and equipment renewal allow to increase production capacity, create higher added value and revenue in future periods. The performed research revealed that the structure and efficiency indicators of long-term tangible assets of the Private Limited Company Schmitz Cargobull Baltic did not show stability, it can be concluded that by disposing of a large amount of long-term tangible assets better company’s results can be achieved through more efficient use of long-term tangible assets. At the end of the work, proposals are presented to increase the efficiency of the use of long-term tangible assets of the Private Limited Company Schmitz Cargobull Baltic. |
