Abstract [eng] For the first time, thin layers of calcium hydroxyapatite (CHA) were formed by the sol-gel method on a specifically roughened stainless steel (316 L) surface. The formation of CHA coatings was confirmed by XRD analysis, FTIR, Raman and XPS spectroscopy. CHA samples synthesized on the surface of modified roughened steel were immersed in simulated body fluid (SBF) for one month. It was found that amorphous calcium phosphate and CHA were formed on the surface of stainless steel. In addition, thin layers of CHA were found to become more hydrophilic after soaking in SBF compared to non-soaked ones. For the first time, CHA coatings were synthesized on 316 L stainless steel with a TiN sublayer. It was shown that the phase composition of the formed coatings obviously depended on the number of coating and heating procedures. The TiN layer was found to act as a buffer to inhibit the formation of iron oxides.
