Adolescents as well as adults show high rates of traumatic events and PTSD. This stage is quite risky because of that the difficulties appeared in one area can affect other areas and contribute to many other negative consequences. For this reason, it is crucial to take care of psychological health and prevent psychological disorders in the early stages of life. Thus, the aim of this study is to determine the links between traumatic events, post-traumatic stress, and somatic complaints in adolescents. For the research were used: demographic data questionnaire; Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen DSM-5 Version (CATS) to identify adolescent traumatic events; International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ-CA) designed to assess the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder in adolescents according to ICD-11; The Children ‘s Somatic symptoms Inventor (CSSI-8) designed to assess adolescent somatic complaints. The study included 198 adolescents 11 – 15 years of age (M = 13.24; SD = 0.97), including 102 girls and 96 boys. The results showed that most of the adolescents’ experience at least one traumatic event (73.7%), at least one somatic symptom (96.0%), and 11.6%. all study participants are at risk for PTSD. Significant relationships between these variables were identified. Five PTSD prognostic variables were also identified. |
