Abstract [eng] The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between uncertainty in illness, uncertainty intolerance, coping styles and emotional state in cancer patients. The study had 116 participants. Among them 108 (93,7%) were woman and 8 (6,3%) were men. Mean age of participants – 50,31 (SD=10.08). Purposive sampling was used in the study. Participants completed Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale- Community form (MUIS-C) ; Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale (IUS-12); Lithuanian coping with stress questionnaire; Depression, Anxiety and Stress scale (DASS-21) and cancer distress thermometer. The study was correlational. It was found, that both uncertainty in illness and uncertainty intolerance were related to the levels of depression, anxiety and stress; some coping styles were related to emotional state and both uncertainty intolerance and uncertainty in illness were related to venting coping style.
