Abstract [eng] Healthy eating is one of the main sources of health, however too much attention on a healthy diet can become an exaggerated concern which in literature is called orthorexia. Orthorexia is a relatively new and little-studied phenomenon, so this work is aimed to evaluate the relationships between orthorexia and dissatisfaction of your body image as well as hypochondria and sociodemographic factors. In this work it is also assumed that orthorexia may have a negative effect on psychological welfare. There were 306 participants of the present study (average age of 38 years) selected by the principle of comfortable sampling. ORTO-15 questionnaire was used to evaluate orthorexia in this study, other instruments used were Body Dissatisfaction Scale, The Health Anxiety Inventory Short version (SHAI), Mental Health Continuum Short Form. The results of this study revealed that orthorexia is associated with body image variables, hypochondria and also can predict better psychological well-being.
