Abstract [eng] The gap of suicide rates between man and woman in Lithuanian population varies from 3.9 to 5.4 times (data of 2010-2018). Despite ratings of suicide recently are starting to decrease, actual reasons of differences between man and woman suicidal process are not clear and rarely researched separately. In the present study qualitative analysis was applied to reach better understanding of suicidal process of man. The aim of the study is to analyze what can be revealed about man suicidal process by bereaved relatives who participated in the life of person who committed suicide. 5 relatives participated in the study (4 female and 1 male; average age 49 years old; SD = 12.07). By applying Thematic Analysis 6 different themes, discussed by relatives, increasing our understanding of the topic emerged: “Experienced difficulties of man who committed suicide”, “Signs indicating a wish to live”, “Other aspects of life”, “Character features of man”, “Changes before suicide”, and “Description of suicidal action”. 3 themes exclusively related to relatives perspective and storytelling aspects emerged in present study: “Relatives have a wish but experience it hard to share the story”, “Conflict of guilt in relation with concept of suicidal process”, and “Behavior of others is important after suicide”. The goal of the research was to gain main insight of whole picture of man suicidal process, trying to understand what is important in every theme that emerged in present data analysis. As a result, interpretation of separate themes should be avoided. In the coherence with research results ant academic literature review, conclusion was reached that experience of failure in solving unfolded life difficulties and increase of emotional separation from other people could explain man suicidal process the best in the present study.
