Abstract [eng] In ageing society, the number of people with health problems and intensive care is increasing. Statistics show that 80% of patients in Europe are cared for by their family members whose life and psychological condition can be affected: although research findings are mixed, caregiving often leads to anxiety and reduced quality of life. Due to these difficulties, there is a need for evidence-based interventions, but their effectiveness has not been sufficiently studied. The aim of this study was to investigate the anxiety and quality of life changes of informal caregivers who are involved in the cognitive internet-based intervention. This study used The Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-7 and The Brunnsviken Brief Quality of Life Scale for measuring anxiety and quality of life. The study included 10 informal caregivers, all females. The age of the participants who completed the intervention was from 45 to 67 years (M = 55,6; SD = 7,59). The results revealed that all family caregivers in the study experienced mild to severe levels of anxiety before the intervention, two had moderate anxiety symptoms and two had severe anxiety symptoms. We found that cognitive internet-based intervention significantly reduced anxiety, a reduction was found in six of the 10 participants; and improved quality of life, an improvement was found in eight of the 10 participants.
