Abstract [eng] Possibilities of Accessing Mixed Methods in Criminological Research The present paper analyses criminological research conducted in different countries of the world since 2000, which used the approach of mixed methods. Research examining the topics of tobacco, drugs, alcohol use, violence, and the integration of persons returning from prisons into society is examined. The research analyses access strategies, choice motives, advantages, and disadvantages of mixed methods. The course of the research, the methods used, the aims and objectives of criminological research, the obtained results, as well as the insights of the authors of the research are analysed. The time of quantitative and qualitative research, the relevance of criminological research topics, the use of the results in the development of preventive and treatment programs for victims of alcohol and tobacco use, as well as programs to help victims of violence or the integration of prisoners are analysed. The paper examines how quantitative and qualitative data were collected in the study, the impact this had on the final results of the study and discusses how data collection methods could be improved. This study will provide theoretical knowledge and practical examples of mixed methods and this knowledge can be used in the future to study criminological phenomena. In addition, it will help the researchers decide which methods to use in criminological research, as the work examines the strengths and weaknesses of mixed methods and what to consider when choosing a research methodology, the problems faced by researchers choosing access to mixed methods. These questions are addressed by analysing the different scientific sources the authors have written about access to mixed methods and criminological articles in which researchers’ present arguments as to why they have chosen access to mixed methods in their criminological research.
