Abstract [eng] Psychofisiological Investigation: Procedural Forensic Characteristics and Problems The thesis has been analyzing psychophysiological researches from a procedural forensic aspect and raises the problem of research application. Special attention has been paid to polygraph research, as it is the only type of psychophysiological research that has been recognized and regulated in Lithuania by "determining the truth". This topic is actual due to scientists have not yet formulated a general approach on the application of this kind of research. The first part of the thesis analyzes the concept of psychophysiological research and its type. The second part discusses the historical aspects of the polygraph study, the basis of the theory as a scientific use of polygraph research and the regulation of psychophysiological research in Lithuania and some other countries. The third of polygraph study lists the content, which consists of stages and methodologies. The fourth part analyzes the limits of the application of the polygraph in criminal proceedings. The fifth part examines the polygraph assessment in case law. The thesis uses historical, comparative, systemic and other methods; normative legislation, scientific sources, case law.
