Schizophrenia changes the personality of the rest of life, manifests of disease residual effect, so they will inevitably need help facilitate adaptation to life in order to minimize their ongoing support / care needs, improve the quality of life and emotional state. In Lithuania has not yet been carried out research on schizophrenia persons living in social care homes and families the subjectively experienced emotional status and quality of life assessment. In the field of foreign authors conducted studies provide conflicting results. The aim of this work is to reveal the relation between of depression, anxiety and subjective quality of life of adults with schizophrenia living in social care homes and families. The study involved 56 adults with paranoid schizophrenia (women – 28, men - 28), who were divided into two groups of subjects: 28 study participants living in social care homes and 28 study participants who live in families. In order to determine the subjective quality of life and depression and anxiety manifestation in this study were used: The World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL) – BREF and The Beck Depression Scale, The Beck Hopelessness Scale, The Beck Suicidal Thoughts Scale, The Beck Anxiety Scale and the study's author designed to collect demographic data. The results showed that adults with schizophrenia more positive subjective quality of life are associated with better emotional state, i. e., the lower depression, hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, and anxiety symptoms of expression, the higher estimates of subjective quality of life, and vice versa. Also sumed up that depression, hopelessness and social care homes predicts the subjective quality of life, and anxiety is not a significant predictor, i. e., the lower the symptoms of depression and hopelessness expression of living in social care homes, the more likely a more positive subjective assessment of quality of life. Finally summarized, that the adults with paranoid schizophrenia living in social care home the depression symptoms voice are lower and subjective quality of life are higher than living in families.
