The quality of cartographical production determine lot of factors, but one of most important – correctitude of information, which is closely connected with accuracy of map. The mistakes of accuracy debase the value of map. Accuracy of printed thematical maps is determined by few factors: printing quality, scale of map (most possible, that in detailed scale maps small mistakes in layout of abritrary signs will notbe noticed), work of kartographer (human factor) and etc. The research of accuracy estimation in thematical maps was not widely analysed in Lithuania. There are just few publications in this theme, so topics in this work are particulary actual for futher development of thematical cartography in Lithuania. The goal of work “ The automation of accuracy estimation methodology of thematical maps” – to create and to automate the loading of abritrary signs accuracy estimation methodology of thematical maps, and research the accuracy of abritrary signs loading in several maps. The goal was reached by four stages: 1. By analysis of theoretical assumption; 2. The accuracy estimation methodology and it’s precept scheme was created; 3. The combination of computer programs “KartoMat” for automation of accuracy estimation methodology was created and described; 4. To estimate the efectiveness of automation methodology the analysis of concerted abritrary signs loading was accomplished three thematical maps. In research results average deflection range in centre coordinate of abritrary signs (in LKS 94 coordinate sistem) was 40m, and it is acceptable accuracy for thematical maps according specifications. We can make statement, that set of computer programs “KartoMat” for automation of accuracy estimation methodology is enough effective- it makes the research of thematical maps much easier and provides proper accuracy. |
