Abstract [eng] One of the biggest social problems in Lithuania is the socialization of teenagers in foster homes. Informal artistic training helps to create public homes for local community, which perform cultural functions throught integration whole the community and stimulate them to develop themselves and to solve the problems. Informal artistic training in foster homes is understandable as permanent part of training and is devoting to develop free time culture. In the same time should be capacitate conditions to realize the needs, individually renew the lack of knowledges, collect communication and collaboration experience, to perfect the socialization of the whole children in the foster homes, especially teenagers. The object of research – informal artistic training as a factor of teenagers’ effective socialization in the foster homes. The purpose of research – to disclose the attitudes of educators and teenagers to informal artistic training as a factor of socialization development in the foster homes. The research was accomplished in institutional-local level. Four foster homes took part in this research (Kaunas foster home „Atzalynas“, Raseiniai foster home, Taurage foster home „Saltinelis“, Siauliai foster home „Saltinis“).185 respondents took part : 42 educators and 143 teenagers. The selection of educators and teenagers is random. To collect the empirical information of the research there were formed two types of questionnaires: for educators and for teenagers. The questionnaires were formed according the works which were analyzed in theoretical part of the work. The information was processed with SPSS for Windows program (16 version). The analysis of theoretical literature, documents shows that informal artistic training could be effective factor of socialization, which lets to recognize themselves, to obtain trust, to expand social skills, to supply communication needs, to sense their being in the society and to indulge into social life. The hypothesis of the research is that if we organize the informal artistic training, the socialization of teenagers in the foster homes would be more effective, verification. Among the respondents dominated positive attitudes to informal artistic training as a factor of effective socialization. To secure informal artistic training activities‘ opportunities in the foster homes very important are material and spiritual factors, organizational abilities.
