The paper presents translation of nine documents of internal communication between various Turkish institutions about the the planned scientific voyage of famous botanist that worked in Vytautas Magnus Universtity in 1922–1940 to Türkiye in 1933 revealing various details of the planned trip. These documents consist of two letters written by Konstantinas Regelis himself to the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Berlin (in French), letters from the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye , the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Turkish Ministry of Interior (all in Turkish). Following Konstantinas Regelis’ scientific voyage to Türkiye in 1932, the following year the scholar was planning another trip to Türkiye. The preparatory work for the trip started in 1932 by discussing relevant aspects, such as the voyage’s route, the assistance for avoiding the difficulties encountered during the previous trip, and other minor details. However, the planned trip of 1933 did not take place due to professor’s illness, resulting in another attempt to plan in 1934. Yet, this trip did not take place as well without any reasons being provided. |
