Abstract [eng] The Master Thesis analyzes and evaluates the influence of factors determining the demand of land cargo transport services in 26 EU countries during the period of 1997-2013 years. The first part of the Thesis presents the notion and main characteristics of the cargo transport, as well as the analysis and systematization of Lithuanian and foreign authors’ theoretical aspects of the factors determining the demand of land cargo transport services and their influence. Basing on academic articles and studies conducted by the foreign and Lithuanian authors, the main factors influencing the demand of cargo transport services were determined. The role of elasticity measurement is reasoned by analyzing the demand of cargo transport services and the factors which determine such demand. The Thesis presents theoretical analysis of practically applied models of cargo transport services. The conceptual model of factors determining the demand of land cargo transport services is prepared. The second part of the Thesis describes the process of conducted research: the analyzed countries, research period, applied methods and computer programs are identified. Basing on the analyzed literature and academic articles, the methods of evaluation of influence of factors determining the demand of land cargo transport services are presented, and their application in the Master Thesis is reasoned. The third part presents the review of the dynamics of the main issues of cargo transport services demand in the EU countries and the evaluation of the present transport policy. The empirical part of the Thesis presents the statistical analysis of the demand of land cargo transport services and the factors determining such demand in some of 26 EU countries, as well as the analysis of economic development in separate groups of countries. By using the method of the least squares, the influence of factors determining the demand of land cargo transport services is evaluated. The conducted research proved the hypothesis stating that the influence of the factors determining the demand of land cargo transport services statistically differs significantly in the countries with different economic development. The influence of export on the demand of cargo transport services was higher in the countries with better economic development. Moreover, the research revealed that the growth of import volumes during the analyzed period had statistically significant influence on the demand of cargo transport services in 26 EU countries.
