Abstract [eng] Relevancy of the research. Television is one of the major types of mass media. An individual who is becoming mature is the most sensitive part of mass media and maturation highly depends on the influence of television. Nowadays people more often talk about television as being one of the major educational roles. That is why by writing this Master thesis, it was aspired to evaluate how television directly and indirectly contributes to society’s opinion about the formation of education’s quality. What is more, it was also aspired to evaluate what influence television has on the quality of education. The object of the research is the affect of television on the quality of educational process. The aim of the research is to examine theoretically and empirically the affect of television on the quality of educational process. The methodology of the research. Quantitative analysis (a type of empirical analysis) was chosen (Bitinas, 2006) for the research. This analysis was carried out on institutional level. Moreover, certain quantitative methods were used: Pedagogues’ and students’ questionnaires; Quantitative data analysis. The instrument of the research is questionnaires made for pedagogues and for students. The scope of the research is 100 pedagogues and 200 students from chosen schools and gymnasiums. The results are the following: • According to theoretical providences of educationalists, psychologists and sociologists, education is apprehensible as a complex system that submits stochastic consistent patterns; • Pedagogues’ and students’ opinions about the affect of television and its confirmation to educational process. The structure of the research. Theoretical aspects of the affect of television for educational quality and factors that have influence on educational quality were identified in the first part of this work. It was noticed that television is an essential participant of educational process. It works there as an educator and very often even as one of the main educators that changes traditional educators more often. The second part of this work was designed for empirical analysis in order to investigate pedagogues’ and students’ opinions about television’s influence on educational quality. When empirical analysis has been done, it was found out that different groups of respondents conceive the affect of television on education differently.
