Abstract [eng] This master work analyzes — the issues of the image of femininity: the relation between its surface and interior. It is studied how the image of a woman is shaped by external factors, how much artificial surface can change a woman and how femininity is described in painting. The aim is to reveal not only the social influence on the multi-layered image of a woman but also the artificial development of her external image in contemporary postmodern society. With popularity of social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and smartphones people become hostages of self-demonstration in publicity. People strive to conform to stereotypes and beauty standards: the artificial skin is created as the woman’s face is changed layer after layer; the body is improved using various tools seeking for perfectionism. Creating these paintings it was used IT program, digital photographs, literature and analogues analyses. The works are painted using acrylic technique, multi-layered colour combinations and allusions of woman’s shape. Theoretical part is based on philosophers’ thoughts about beauty, psychologists’ foresights about created beauty’s stereotypes and standards and the influence of publicity on it. Analyzing the woman’s image in painting it was used the concepts of contemporary foreign and Lithuanian painters and graphic artists and their rendering of visualization. Using the multi-layered principle in six painting collection “Shadows” emotions, feelings are presented and it is given space for imagination. In painting reveals a large number of unpredictable things, shadings: it might be the wall or the open space, or maybe reflections of woman’s inner self.
