Abstract [eng] The relevance of the study. Man is the main creator, enabler, and the evaluator of career. Career is a continuous personal development and the method of self-expression, qualitative change optimistic perspective, direction and purpose (Gumuliauskienė, 2002). Multicultural environment influences students’ readiness for work and the majority of teachers are interested in this issue, which should be taken more seriously in consideration. Object of investigation. School students’ career training in multicultural environment. Study hypothesis. It is likely that the multicultural learning environment has an impact on expanding the international mobility of young people choosing a university. Aim of the study. Clarify the students' preparation for career opportunities in multicultural environment. Objectives of the study: 1. Clarify the influence of personality in the choice of career. 2. Analyze the training for career and professional theoretical assumptions. 3. To clarify the opportunities in career for forms 9 – 12. 4. Compare student’s preparation for careers in multicultural and monocultural environment. Research methodology. The study methodology consists of human personality theory (A. Maslow (1979). Its representatives claim that the person is constantly growing and developing. Person needs self-eduction, the desire to know, to improve himslef, to disclose his potential powers, to realize personal and professional life. Investigation and organization. The study was conducted in 2008. November – December in Riga Lithuanian Secondary School, Jonishkis M. Slanchiausko school and secondary school 62 in Riga. Study included 193 respondents. Questionnaire consists of 17 questions. Work structure. Master's paper consists of summary, introduction, list of key terms, 2 sections, conclusion, recommendations, bibliography (64 sources) and 7 appendices. Studies are illustrated by eight tables and 14 paintings. Total volume - 85 pages. Conclusion. Students of Riga Lithuanian secondary school can study in Latvian as well as in Lithuanian higher education establishments, because they know both languages. Practice shows that the annual numbers of young people start education in Lithuania. Study confirmed the hypothesis that a multicultural learning environment has an impact on expanding the international mobility of young people choosing a university.
