Abstract [eng] |
The aim of the work was to develop a model of formation of radioactive waste streams in the Ignalina NPP technological media and methodology for assessment of the radionuclide composition. In the dissertation, formation of radioactive waste streams in the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant is analyzed, possibilities of direct and indirect radioactive waste characterization methods are assessed and nuclide composition of the main Ignalina NPP radioactive waste streams is established. The methodology for compilation of the list of safety-relevant radionuclides is proposed, the sequence of radionuclide composition variation, encompassing technological processes from radioactive waste generation to disposal, is investigated and indirect methodology of estimation of difficult-to-measure nuclides for the nuclear power plant with the RBMK type reactor is proposed and implemented. In the work, a complex of computer modelling, radiochemical analysis and nuclear spectroscopy methods was applied. Suitability of the nuclide vector method for characterization of the RBMK radioactive waste was substantiated by experimental results, and recommendations on application of scaling factors for characterization of different radioactive waste streams are given. Dependence of difficult-to-measure radionuclide scaling factors on the radioactive waste stream was analyzed. |
