Abstract [eng] Summary: The cartography of objects of the immovable culture heritage in the thematic cartography is a rare phenomenon. Very few thematic maps on the latter topic have been issued. The cartographic expression of the immovable culture heritage often becomes a complex part of content of particular maps, yet not an essential piece of information. There is quite a few different type and purpose cultural heritage objects (their amount reaches several thousand). New scientific research increases the plentiful number of valuables of the immovable culture heritage. A need arises to introduce the information to society both, for educational and scientific purpose, seeking to develop cultural tourism. Therefore the topic of the paper “The peculiarities of presentment of objects of the immovable culture heritage in the thematic cartography” remains relevant for the realities of the present times. The goal of the scientific paper is to carry out an analysis of the presentment of objects of the immovable culture heritage in the thematic maps. The analysis consisted of an overview of stages of the heritage protection process, the assessment of existing information system of valuables of the cultural heritage, the assessment of cartographic presentment of objects of the cultural heritage (principles for forming signs, stylistic peculiarities, characteristic mistakes, assessment of the recognition of signs, etc.), an investigation into the formation of a thematic map of the cultural heritage (perspectives of the cartographic presentment of information on cultural heritage in the drawing up and publication of maps, problems of the cartographic presentment, aspects of processing information sources, and its reliability, etc.). After making an analysis it turned out that the information compilation and presentment problems existing in the field of cultural heritage protection aggravate the cartographic presentment of this information in the drawing up and publication of thematic maps. Chaotic data processing traditions and inefficient circulation of information flows cause data reliability and consistency problems. Information on the valuable of cultural heritage is presented not according to well defined criteria, but based on chaotic data screening. Mistakes are characteristic for the formation of arbitrary signs, whereas recognition (associativeness) is not optimal, therefore further analysis and the improvement of signs is necessary. The possibilities of information cartographic presentment are directly associated with the selected field of monument protection due to the difference in peculiarities of geographic spread. The drawing up of individual thematic maps in the heritage protection field is not efficient and consistent from the cartographic point of view due to irregular information system for data compilation, and due to the specificity characteristic of this type of information. It is expedient to commence the publication of atlases of the objects of cultural heritage or collections of maps.
