Abstract [eng] Person's appearance is very important in his/her life. But sometimes it happens that there are different skin diseases, person loses the healthy appearance of his/her body. In this case, a cosmetic is helpful. It protects skin from environmental influences, forming a thin film, helps fighting many skin diseases. Healthy people also should use medical cosmetics, since it also has decorative and cosmetic properties. All of the above determined the choice of subject for this study. Topic of master's thesis: \"Some features of the translation of terms of medical cosmetics from Lithuanian into Russian\". We analyzed the features of the translation of terms of medical cosmetics from Lithuanian into Russian, attempted to define the specifics of compiling dictionaries of terms. Annex portrays the Lithuanian-Russian dictionary of terms of medical cosmetics as a practical result of the study. The goal was to establish peculiarities of translation of the terms of medical cosmetics from Lithuanian into Russian. The set target identified problems and methods of research (see p. 5). Firstly, we studied the scientific literature on the subject of the work and found that the problem of terminology had already been studied by linguists (V.P. Danilenko (1977); S.I. Ozhegov (1992); A.A. Reformatsky (1996); E. Jakaitienė ( 2006), etc.) in sufficient detail, however each individual scientist has his/her own point of view on the terminology and its definition. Secondly, we analysed the classification of terms, briefly outlined features of highly specialized terminology. Thirdly, we analyzed the main methods of translation of terms, which we, based on the classification of famous scientists (L.S. Barkhudarov (1975); V.N. Komissarov (1990); Y.Y. Retsker (1981)), divided into lexical and grammatical transformations. In the practical part analysis of some features of the translation of terms of medical cosmetics from Lithuanian into Russian is given. Terms were obtained by solid sampling of cosmetics catalogues and Internet sites Faberlic and Mirra. We found 400 examples. By analyzing how the terms are translated, we found that the grammatical transformations constitute the majority tem translation methods of medical cosmetics from Lithuanian into Russian (338 cases or 62.25%). Lexical transformations were used in 154 examples (29.72%) (see Table 1 and Fig. 1,2). With the means of selected terms of medical cosmetics Faberlic and Mirra we compiled Lithuanian-Russian dictionary of terms of medical cosmetics. In the dictionary terms of medical cosmetics, with their respective definitions both in Lithuanian and in Russian are given. The dictionary can be useful not only for translators, but also for those who are interested in medical cosmetics.
