Abstract [eng] In the present research, the theoretical analysis of patients’ health’s strengthening and its improvement in the hospital has been done. The hypothesis has been raised, that the analysis of health strengthening would help to solve the patients’ health promotion problems in hospital. Using the method of questionnaire, the research has been done which helped to divulge health’s strengthening and its improvement of patients of hospital. Also, there has been done statistical analysis of data (frequency descriptive, averages, chi – square (X2), Kruskal Wallis test, correlation of Spearmean and content). The patients of Klaipeda Jūrininkų hospital of cardiology department participated in the resent research. In the empirical part there are analysing the opportunities of patients’ health’s strengthening and improvement in the hospital. Also, the knowledge of patients about the health and its improvement, the evaluation of one’s health state, moreover, addictions and the activity of medical establishment. The most important conclusions of empirical part: 1. The research of Klaipeda Jūrininkų hospital of cardiology department showed that patients have a lack of information about how they could more effectively strengthen their health, especially practising health self – education by their own. The lack of knowledge and information did not let effectively fight against disease for the respondents. 2. The least attention is paying to the theoretical practices. Also, the programmes of health education are not performed enough. The major attention is paid to the practical practices – most frequently – gymnastics, as the one of major method in health strengthening. 3. The raised hypothesis confirmed that the analysis of health strengthening would help to solve the problems of patients’ health promotion in hospital; because it is believed that more informed patients would tend to be interested in their health. Also, they would understand the benefit of health promotion and its improvement. As a consequence of this they will be interested in how to get more information and knowledge from medical establishment, not only about the treatment of diseases but also about the ways of health strengthening and consideration.
