Abstract [eng] The aim of the thesis is to investigate the change of physical fitness of rural children in the project Summer Football School. The problem of the study: to make sure if the project "Summer Football School" and individual personal development in football will help the targeted improve their state of physical fitness and increase their physical activity. The objective of the study is to investigate children's physical fitness. The hypothesis of the study: football trainings help improve physical fitness indicators of the investigative and increase their physical activity. The study was carried out within the period from 01/06/2010 to 30/09/2010. The pupils of Gasčiunai Village Basic School, Joniškis district were chosen. All the pupils participating in the project "Summer Football School" were included in the study, children and teenagers, regardless of sex, age and their physical fitness. They were divided into two groups. The first group comprised children under 13 years of age, it was made of 11 children (n = 11). The teenagers over 13 years of age fell into the other group, comprising 10 children (n = 10). The two groups were formed with the aim to how best compare their physical possibilities and fitness. The investigation was individual (qualitative investigation). Both groups were tested three times during the four months. Every three times the tasks and conditions were the same in order to get more exact study results. The tasks used in the study: 30 m running, 50 m running, 60 m running, 100 m running, 300 m running, long jump with a leap, high jump without the hand held system, high jump with the hand held system, pressure of dynamometer with the left hand, pressure of dynamometer with the right hand. All the tasks were repeated three times during the summer. All the measurements were done using "New test" equipment in order to get more exact data. The results of the analysis revealed that all the investigation gave positive results with the exception of high jump with the hand held system; I therefore assume the thesis hypothesis was proved.
