-This study explains aspects ofthe historiography, designed to the medieval Norway women's history. The work describes, that throughout first, initial period of women 's history research ( end ofXIX century-l 975) dominate positivistic attitudes among the scientists, the mostly rised by them to the light ofhistory are financially or politically influential women; they appear in the history science thanks to there activity. One of the principai characteristics ofthe second period (from 1975 to 1986) is studies professionalization; scientist's approach is under the strong influence of the process wherein women 's history of all periods transforms in to the subdiscipline. The main characters ofthe third period (from 1986) is domination ofthe gender con- 156 ception, creation of the gender studies centres in the Norway universities, intensification of the national and international conferences and seminars and growing publishing output ofthe research works. The greater number ofthese works had been written in the earlier period, i.e. before 1975, but the works of the third period are more qualified and in numerous cases are based on the interdisciplinary viewpoint Studies ofthe medieval Norway women's history are very bounded up with the same studies in the other Scandinavian countries. Historians frequently are using the same sources. The obvious tendency is - to have a look at these issue for this region as if it is in the interrelated or common cultural, legal and political space. |
