The paper aims to examine a bar with concentrator, made of steel 45, undergoing electromechanical process. During the experiment, tension and compression tests were applied to the processed and unprocessed bar. In addition, stress and deformation tests by the means of finite element method (using the finite element program ANSYS) were involved. There were also analytical methods applied to the experiments of the resistence from low-cycle deformation in the zones of concentration and further calculations of the irreguliarities. These tests assisted in determing the influence of the hardened layer on the low-cycle fatigue characteristics of the samples, in case the threshold of proportion and yield is exceeded under the tension and compression. |
