Abstract [eng] The relevance of the study. The family is the main factor determining socialization of the child and successful realization of his or her rights. The child grows and matures in the family, his or her personality and preferences are developing. The child takes over the models of the main social roles existing in the family. The family is a guarantee of the emotional and physical security for the child in the surrounding world. At the same time the responsibility to protect and safeguard the pre-school aged child’s rights and interests in the family guaranteeing satisfaction of his or her physiological, security, love and other needs which is necessary for the successful and harmonious development of the personality falls on the parents. However, we have to admit that the parents hardly understand that their pre-school aged child has his or her rights and often undermine them while communicating with the child. Such violations leave a big impact on the developing personality. We have to remember that before taking any actions in regards to the child, we have to take into account and consider the main criterion which is the child’s interests. On the background of the analysis of the scientific literature we tried to find out the attitude of the parent’s towards the rights of their pre-school aged children. The object of the study. The attitude of the parent’s raising the pre-school aged children towards the rights of the pre-school aged children. The aim of the study. To reveal the attitude of the parent’s raising the pre-school aged children towards the rights of the pre-school aged children. The methodology of the study. A questionnaire survey was used in order to reach our aim. A closed type questionnaire was prepared. It encompassed five diagnostic blocks. An anonymous type of the questionnaire was chosen in pursuit of the objectivity and reliability. 130 respondents raising the pre-school aged children who attended a kindergarten in Kėdainiai district In the first diagnostic block the respondents were asked to provide their demographic data. The second block consisted of 5 statements on the rights of survival of the pre-school aged children. In the third block the respondents had to reveal their attitude towards the pre-school aged children’s rights of growing and developing. In the fourth block the respondents had to reveal their opinion and judgment on the pre-school aged children’s rights of security and protection. In the fifth block the respondents were asked about their attitude towards the pre-school aged children’s participation rights.
