Abstract [eng] The main goal of this research was to evaluate a validity of manual muscle testing (MMT) method. Methodology: 1. Comparison of traditional diagnostic and MMT, performed testing 6 volunteer patients, undergoing a treatment at Gastroenterological section of Santariškės Clinics. 2. Evaluating changes of deltoid muscle tone performing an emotional stimulation. 3. Evaluating changes of deltoid muscle tone using MMT method and testing without any stimulation, while stimulated sedative acupunctural point No5 and testing while stimulated toning acupunctural point No9 of lung meridian using a device for neuromiostimulation Bioton. Conclusions: 4. Functional disbalances, diagnosed for patients matched existing clinical diagnoses (rate 67,7% ) 5. Changes of deltoid muscle, evaluated using MMT were statistically reliable (p<0,005). These changes match both conclusions of testing doctor and subjective opinion of the tested persons. 6. Corelation rates betwen values of pressure-ressistance forces‘ aritmetical sum and values indicating changes of biceps‘volume were high ((≤0,93). This confirms that the weakening of muscle is not a result of a bigger force used by testing doctor performing the arm-pull-down test. 7. The results of this study verify a validity of MMT method.
