The main purpose of this master thesis is identification of occupational health and safety management systems (OHSAS) implementation peculiarities in Lithuanian organizations. In the work was applied the following research methods: During analysis of the Scientific literature in Lithuanian and foreign scientific publications of work and health safety systems were identified theoretical implementation peculiarities in different organizations; by the semi-structured interview method was carried survey about OHSAS implementation peculiarities in Lithuanian organizations; graphics and charts that reflect the empirical data were made using Microsoft Office Excel; based on the scientific literature and the survey data analysis, was prepared the picture of OHSAS implementation peculiarities in Lithuanian organizations. The literature analysis revealed, that there were many companies and organizations, which have implemented the appropriate management systems, operating in Lithuania, and they have insufficient level of maturity in standardized management systems, therefore they were not able to effectively use the opportunities offered by the ISO standards. During analysis of the scientific literature were identified OHSAS implementation phases, the main issues affecting the effective implementation of these phases and not depending on the phases identified characteristics determining all the OSH system implementation success. The empirical research extracted 11 OHSAS implementation phases. The expert opinion’s analysis revealed a tendency and the differences between the different sizes of Lithuanian companies OHSAS implementation features. The study analysis revealed that the OSHAS implementation process is different in small and medium-large companies. Based on the literature analysis and the survey results, submitted 2 models, reflecting implementation peculiarities in different sizes of Lithuanian organizations and different phase of OHSAS implementation. Author considers, that it is possible to use data of this research, for companies which are planning to implement OHSAS system, for the effective implementation and planning. The most important results of this research are planned to present for Dussmann Group quality management professionals (for representatives of 18 countries), to use the result of this survey in their organizations. |
