Abstract [eng] Goal: to evaluate influence of Elastic resistance exercises on elderly people physical and psycho-emotional state Tasks: 1. To evaluatephysical and psycho-emotional state of elderly people before of elastic resistance exercises program 2. To evaluate effectiveness of elastic resistance exercises program for physical and psycho-emotional state of elderly people. 3. To evaluate change in physical and psycho-emotional state between elastic resistance exercises program group and general exercises program group. Methods and organization:the study was conducted in rehabilitation centre Gemma. The research was conducted from 2015-09 to 2016-01. The sample consisted of 51 (women (n = 34) and men (n = 17)) elderly people aged from 65 to 81 years. All subjects were aware of the study and participated in it voluntarily. Subjects meeting the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups:research (n 26) and control (n 25). During study ware conducted two testing sessions: first - before the start of the study, the second – after 6 weeks of the program. Both groups were subjected to a 6-week program, which took place 2 times a week for 45 minutes. The program was carried indoors. The research group has carried out exercises using the “Gymstick" elastic resistance stick, while a control group - general exercises without the use of elastic resistance means. In a study to assess the parameters following tests were used: arm mobility test "The Back Scratch Test“, test for leg strength “Sit to stand“, for balance – Berg balance scale, functional mobility test "Timed Up and Go“, for pain visual analogue scale of pain, for psycho-emotional state “Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale“. Results:After the elastic resistance exercise program statistically significantly (p <0.05) improved mobility of arms: the right arm by 18.28 % , left armby 12.26 %., leg strength by 23.37 %., the balance by 5 %., functional mobility by 4.12 %., psycho-emotional stateby 15.43 %., pain reduced by 33.33 %. Comparing the change between the groups the results change in research group was greater than in control group: mobility of arms: the left arm 57,8 %, right arm, 83.7 %, leg strength increased by 117.92 %, the balance 46.63 %, pain 15,33 %, psycho-emotionalstate: anxiety 136.14 %, depression 128.44 %. Conclusions: at the beginning of the study parameters of physical and psycho-emotional state of both groups were evaluated. After evaluation it can be concluded that the strength of the legs, functional mobility, and balance were good based on the recommendations for the elderly, anxiety and depression levels were within the normal range. Both groups were similar and mutually comparable. After elastic resistance exercise program statistically significantly (p <0.05) improved in all evaluated parameters: arms mobility, legs strength, balance, functional mobility, pain, psycho-emotional state. After general exercises program evaluated parameters changed also statistically significantly. Comparing changes in physical and psycho-emotional state between elastic resistance exercises program group and general exercises program group, was found that the treatment and control groups arm mobility, legs strength, balance, functional mobility, psycho-emotionalstate averages of change statistically significantly (p <0.05) differs. There was not found statistically significant (p> 0.05) difference only between averages of change in pain indicators.
