The programmes of bullying prevention which have been practised abroad are used in Lithuania. Therefore it is important to investigate the effectiveness of these programmes in the context of Lithuania in order to understand whether the methods of bullying prevention, which have been applied in other countries, have changed the psychological climate in Lithuanian schools. Therefore, master's thesis analyses the concept of bullying prevention and bullying prevention management systems. It also reviews the evaluation of the effectiveness of these programmes. Besides, the work presents the analysis of bullying as violence governing legal documents in Lithuania, an overview of preventive programmes and their effectiveness in comprehensive schools to ensure children's safety. It has been investigated the management of bullying prevention in comprehensive schools in Lithuania and the effectiveness of the preventive programmes. The author’s formulated hypothesis has been approved: the management of violence and bullying prevention is effective only if it is ensured at all levels: public, social, legal, educational, financial, the system of different management. |
