Abstract [eng] |
Globalisation, burst of information, development of modern technologies and their invasion into Lithuania‘s daily life and an unhealthy competition among students make an impact on the occurrence of communication and cooperation problems in Lithuanian society as well as in education system. Every organisation has its own culture and atmosphere. A school is a convergence of two big human groups, i. e. adults (teachers) and children (students). It is important to each group to survive, have hope, develop thoughtful mutual relationships and create the atmosphere that is favourable for them, and in which they feel valued, useful and act purposefully. A warm relationship between teachers and students relying on mutual love, openness, respect, hearing, empathy and understanding is the foundation of successful teaching and learning. This paper aims at revealing the problems of students that arise in a comprehensive school while combining a two-sided education and after school activities. Applying the principle of equal opportunities, the paper endeavours to find out and evaluate the attitude of school administration and teachers towards the students who study music and other arts, their learning and learning conditions and the improvement of those conditions – optimisation striving for the wellbeing of a child as a person and for a school as an educational institution. The study used: analysis of theoretical – scientific literature, questionnaires, methods of mathematical statistics. The questionnaire survey involved 10 head teachers of Plunge comprehensive schools, 50 teachers of Plunge city schools, 45 students attending art schools and 41 parents of students attending art schools. |
