Abstract [eng] |
In this dissertation an emphasis is given to the lipolytic enzymes (lipases and carboxylesterases) of Geobacillus origin. Due to their capability to function and remain stable at higher temperatures, catalyse hydrolysis, ester synthesis and transesterification reactions, these enzymes have intriguing fundamental reseach and industrial application potential. However due to a lack of knowledge, the aim of this work is to improve the understanding of lesser known 55 kDa Geobacillus carboxylesterases as well as evaluating the application of Geobacillus lipolytic enzymes in polyester recycling. |
