The subject of the present Master thesis is defined by translation transformations in general and their peculiarities occurring in translation from English into Lithuanian. This paper contains structured theoretical data with references to statements by different Lithuanian and foreign linguists concerning various linguistic shifts encountered in the process of translation; it also accumulates definitions of different translation strategies illustrated by translation instances and generalised by the initiated classification of transformation shifts, which assists in analysing the peculiarities of translation transformations occurring in the Lithuanian version of “Eat, Pray, Love” by E. Gilbert translated by A. Banelytė. |
