Abstract [eng] Many theoretical and practical issues arise regarding the vocational training of pupils with special education demands. The problem of organising special education assistance in the vocational centres has been analysed in this Master work. It is important to recognise the significance of organising the special education assistance in the process of improving the quality of vocational training of the pupils with special education demands, because it helps to reveal the peculiarities of pupils’ special requirements, the demand for the assistance and the structure of the system of vocational training of the disabled. The object of the research. The special education assistance rendered in the vocational training centres. The subject of the research. The organisation of the special education assistance by combining the requirements and activity possibilities of different participants (pupils, educators, specialists and administration agents). The aim of the research. To reveal the peculiarities of special education assistance in the vocational training centres and to present the possibilities of improving the assistance. Quantitative and qualitative methods of the research have been applied in this paper. 214 respondents participated in the questionnaire: 91 educational process participant (educators, specialists and administration agents) and 123 pupils with special education demands. The questionnaire of 34 questions (including 8 open questions, 23 half closed and 3 closed type questions) has been given to the educators and specialists. The questionnaire for pupils consisted of 23 questions: 3 open, 13 half closed and 7 of them were of closed type. After summing up the results of the research the conclusion has been drawn that special education assistance has only been introduced in the vocational training centres, and because of the great number of pupils with special education demands and the lack of specialists, the latter usually are more engaged in the role of consultants rather than educators. Insufficient special education assistance has been identified in the vocational training centres; the lack of competence required for work with pupils with special education demands has been determined in subject and profession teaching. The results of the research have revealed that the increase of the number of specialists, the preparation of the means of education, the co-operation between the participants of education process and the correction of laws, according to the educators, are the essential conditions for the efficiency of organisation of special education assistance in the vocational training centres.
