During the soviet period there was a lot of attention for a culture in the radio, but the broadcasts were ideological, controlled and censored. After the declaration of independence the number of culture broadcasts decreased due the difficult political situation and the lack of funding. The aspect of Lithuania’s national radio regionalism is not realized. The national radio does not give any exceptional attention for separate regions. There are now separate broadcasts about the life in the periphery or its problems. |
