Image formation of the town is a correction of naturally formed image or a coordination of long, complicated, directed and thorough process, which often clashes with baseless gossips of society. The latter is strongly affected by the local media, which, due to its wide influence and suggestibility for the formation of publics’ opinion, in the consciousness of the society members often constructs both positive and negative versions of the city’s image. Thus, the local media as the fourth government of the city is not only talking about former or current versions of the image, but is also creating them itself, so it is very important to investigate its practical validity. |
