Abstract [eng] Women‘s bodies undergo significant changes during pregnancy, including adaptations and alterations in many organ systems, such as the skin. Skin changes during pregnancy are categorized as physiological or pathological. The physiological changes associated with pregnancy include pigmentary, structural, vascular and adnexal alterations. Although these changes do not pose a threat to the health of the woman or the fetus, accurate diagnosis and timely management can alleviate the anxiety and unpleasant symptoms experienced by the patient. Pathological changes, known as the dermatoses of pregnancy, include atopic erruption of pregnancy, polymorphic erruption of pregnancy, and pemphigoid gestationis, each defined by unique pathophysiological mechanisms. Varying severity of pregnancy-related skin diseases impacts both fetal and maternal prognosis. This review explores multiple treatment options corresponding to the severity of the diseases. Additionally, symptoms and signs of these conditions, particularly in their early phases, can clinically overlap with other unrelated skin diseases and intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, highlighting the importance of differential diagnosis in this review.
